    ٢ - كثرة تلاوته للقرآن الكريم وحسن صوته إن المتأمل لحياة الدَّارَقُطْنِيّ يتبين له أن الدَّارَقُطْنِيّ كان يكثر من تلاوة كتاب الله تعالى، وكان حسن الصوت حتى تصدر للإقراء في آخر حياته، وقد تقدم قوله كنت أنا والكتاني نسمع الحديث، فكانوا يقولون يخرج الكتاني محدث البلد، ويخرج الدَّارَقُطْنِيّ مقرئ البلد فخرجت أنا محدثًا والكتاني مقرئًا. وقال الذهبي: تصدر في أواخر أيامه. ووصفه الحاكم بقوله وإمامًا في القراء.
