[٥] سمع الحديث الكثير وكانت له معرفة وصنف تاريخا لدمشق عظيما جدا يدخلفي ثمانين مجلدة كبارا وكان شديد التعصب [لأبي الحسن الأشعري حتى صنف كتابا سماه تهذيب] [١] المفتري [٢] على أبي الحسن الأشعري وتوفي بدمشق في هذه السنة [٣] .
