٣٩٧٠- محمد بن أحمد بن الفضل [٢] الماهياني: وماهيان قرية من قرى مرو، تفقه بمرو على أبي الفضل التميمي، ثم مضى إلى نيسابور فأقام مدة عند أبي المعالي الجويني، وتفقه عليه، وسمع بها الحديث منه، ومن أبي صالح المؤذن، ومن أبي بكر الشيرازي، وأبي الحسن الواحدي، ثم سافر إلى بغداد، فأقام عند أبي سعد المتولي [٣] يتفقه عليه، وسمع بها أبا نصر الزينبي وغيره، وتوفي في رجب هذه السنة، وقد قارب التسعين، ودفن بقريته ماهيان.
