    ٣٨٠٦- محمد بْن محمد بن أيوب أبو محمد القطواني: من أهل سمرقند، وقطوان على خمسة فراسخ منها، سافر البلدان، وسمع ٥٠/ أالكثير، وكان/ إماما واعظا فاضلا، له القبول التام بين الخواص والعوام، وحظي عند الملوك، وكان يأمرهم بالمعروف من غير محاباة، ووعظ يوما في الجامع وصلى العصر، ثم ركب فرسا له فسقطت قطعة من السور فنفر الفرس ورماه، فاندقت عنقه فحمل إلى داره فتوفي [وقت الفجر] [١] يوم السبت سادس رجب سنة ست وخمسمائة.
