    ٣٣٦٩- باي [٣] بن جعفر بن باي، أبو منصور الجيلي الفقيه [٤] : أخبرنا القزاز، أخبرنا الخطيب قَالَ: سكن باي بغداد، ودرس فقه الشافعي على أبي حامد الأسفراييني، وسمع من أبي الحسن بن الجندي، وأبي القاسم الصيدلاني، وعبد الرحمن بن عمر بن حمة الخلال، كتبنا عنه وكان ثقة، وولى القضاء بباب الطاق وبحريم دار الخلافة، ومات في المحرم سنة اثنتين وخمسين وأربعمائة.
