٢٧١٩- الفضل المطيع للَّه، أمير المؤمنين [ابن المقتدر] [١] . قد ذكرنا أنه خلع نفسه لأجل مرض لازمه، وولي ابنه الطائع، واشهد على نفسه القضاة والعدول، وكانت خلافته تسعا وعشرين سنة وأربعة أشهر واحد وعشرين يومًا، وخرج الطائع إلى واسط وحمل معه أباه المطيع، فمات في العسكر بدير العاقول في محرم هذه السنة، فكان عمره ثلاثًا وستين سنة، وحمل إلى بغداد، فدفن بتربة جدته/ أم المقتدر.
