١٥٧٣-[مُحَمَّد] [٣] المعتز باللَّه بن المتوكل على الله [٤] : خلعوه وحبسوه [٥] ومنعوه الطعام [والشراب] [٦] حتى مات على ما سبق في الحوادث، وذلك لليلتين خلتا من شعبان هذه السنة، فبقي في الولاية أربع سنين وثمانية [٧] أشهر وثلاثة وعشرين يوما. وقيل: ثلاث سنين وستة أشهر، وثلاثة عشر يوما [٨] . وكان عمره أربعة وعشرين سنة.
