١٣١٧- مسدد بْن مسرهد [٦] بْن مسربل بْن مغربل بْن مطربل، أبو الحسن البصري. روى ابْن مَاكولا، عن أبي علي الخالدي: أنه مسدد بْن مسرهد بْن مسربل بْن مغربل بْن [مرعبل] [٧] بْن أرندل بْن سرندل بْن عرندل بْن مَاشك بْن المستورد الأسدي. قَالَ أحمد بْن يونس الرقي [٨] : جئت إِلَى أبي نعيم بالكوفة فَقَالَ لي: [٩] من محدث البصرة؟ قلت: مسدد بْن مسرهد بْن مسربل الأسدي، فَقَالَ: لو كانت [فِي] [١٠] هَذِهِ التسمية بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم لكانت رقية العقرب [١١] . سمع مسدد من أبي عوانة، وحمَاد بْن زيد. ومَات فِي سنة ثمان وعشرين ومائتين وكان مرضيا.
