٤٢١- نوفل بن معاوية بن عمرو بن صخر بن يعمر: [٥] شهد بدرا مع المشركين، وأحدا والخندق، وكان له ذكر ونكاية، ثم أسلّم بعدذلك وشهد مع رسول الله ﷺ فتح مكة وحنينا والطائف، ونزل المدينة، وحج مع أبي بكر سنة تسع، / وحج مع رسول الله ﷺ سنة عشر. وروى عن رسول الله ﷺ، وعاش ستين سنة في الجاهلية، وستين سنة في الإسلام، وتوفي في خلافة يزيد، وكان له ولد اسمه سلمى، وكان أجود العرب، وفيه يقول الشاعر: يسود أقوام وليسوا بسادة ... بل السيد المحمود سلمى بن نوفل
