٣٨٧- عثمان بن حنيف بن واهب بن عكيم، أبو عَبْد اللَّهِ: [١] بعثه عمر بن الخطاب ﵁ على خراج السواد، ورزقه كل يوم ربع شاة وخمسة دراهم، وأمره أن يمسح/ السواد، فلم يزل على ذلك. ١١٧/ ب ولما قتل عثمان بعثه علي بن أبي طالب واليا على البصرة فلم يزل بها حتى قدم عليه طَلْحَة والزبير فقاتلهم ثم اصطلحوا وكتبوا بينهم كتابا بالموادعة على أن دار الإمارة والمسجد وبيت المال إلى عثمان بن حنيف، وينزل طَلْحَة والزبير وعائشة حيث شاءوا من البصرة. وتوفي عثمان بن حنيف في خلافة معاوية.
