    يعقوب القارئ (١١٧ - ٢٠٥ هـ = ٧٣٥ - ٨٢١ م) يعقوب بن إسحاق بن زيد الحضرميّ البصري، أبو محمد: أحد القراء العشرة. مولده ووفاته بالبصرة. كان إمامها ومقرئها. وهو من بيت علم بالعربية والأدب. له في القراآت رواية مشهورة. وله كتب، منها " الجامع " قال الزبيدي: جمع فيه عامة اختلاف وجوه القرآن، ونسب كل حرف إلى من قرأه. ومن كتبه " وجوه القراآت " و " وقف التمام " وفي المخطوطات الإسلامية بمكتبة كمبريج (٢٧٦) " تهذيب قراءة أبي محمد يعقوب ابن إسحق - خ " في ٣٠ ورقة (٢) .
