يزيد بن هوبر (٠٠٠ - ٧٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٦٩٠ م) يزيد بن هوبر التغلبي: رأس بني تغلب في عصره. وكانت منازلهم بين الخابور والفرات ودجلة. كان شجاعا بطلا. وهو صاحب الوقائع المشهورة مع عمير بن الحباب (انظر ترجمته) وفي المؤرخين من يرى أنه هو الّذي قتل عميرا. وأصيب ابن هوبر يوم مقتل عمير بجراحات مات على أثرها (٢) .
