    الهَيْثَم بن سُلَيْمان (٠٠٠ - نحو ٣١٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٩٢٢ م) الهيثم بن سليمان بن حمدون، أبو المهلب القيسي: فقيه حنفي، من أهل تونس قرأ على سليمان بن عمران وأحمد بن قادم، وهما من تلاميذ أسد ابن الفرات. ورحل إلى بغداد فأخذ عن جماعة من أصحاب أبي يوسف الّذي خلف أبا حنيفة. وعاد الى إفريقية، فتولى القضاء بتونس، بعد سنة ٢٧٠ هـ وصنف " أدب القاضي والقضاء - خ " الجزء الرابع منه في مكتبة جامع القيروان، على الرقّ. وحققه ونشره الدكتور فرحات الدشراوي، بتونس (٢) .
