مُوسى شَهَوَات (٠٠٠ - نحو ١١٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٧٢٨ م) موسى بن يسار المدني، أبو محمد: شاعر، من الموالي. نشأ وعاش بالمدينة. ونزل بالشام، في أيام سليمان بن عبد الملك، فكان من شعرائه. وهو من أهل أذربيجان. واختلفوا في سبب تلقيبه (شهوات) فقال ابن الكلبي: سمي بذلك لقوله في يزيد بن معاوية: (لست منا وليس خالك منايا مضيع الصلاة بالشهوات) وقيل: كان يتاجر بالسكّر والقند، فقالت امرأة: ما زال موسى يأتينا بالشهوات، فغلب عليه. ومن شائع شعره: (أنت نعم المتاع لو كنت تبقى ... غير أن لا بقاء للإنسان) وأخباره كثيرة (١) .
