المِنْهال بن عِصْمَة (٠٠٠ - بعد ١٢ هـ = ٠٠٠ - بعد ٦٣٣ م) المنهال بن عصمة الرياحي اليربوعي التميمي: من فرسان يوم (الغبيط) في الجاهلية. أدرك الإسلام. وشهد يوم (عين التمر) (سنة ١٢ هـ وقتل فيه المجبة بن الحارث من بني أبي ربيعة. ثم مر بمالك بن نويرة، وقد قتل أيضا، فألقى عليه رداءه، أو كفّنه. وفي ذلك يقول متمم بن نويرة، من قصيدة:(لقد كفن المنهال تحت رداءئه ... فتى غير مبطان العشيات أروعا) وكان مؤاخيا لبني حميريّ بن رياح. ويقال له (قواد المقانب) وهي الجماعة من الخيل والفرسان (١) .
