    مُصْعَب الوالِبي (٠٠٠ - ١٠٦ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٧٢٤ م) مصعب بن محمد الوالبي: أمير، ثائر. كان له شأن في العصر المرواني. طلبه أمير العراق (عمر بن هبيرة) وطلب جماعة معه، فخرج بهم مصعب واجتمعوافي الخورنق، وانتخبوه أميرا عليهم فأقام على ذلك إلى أن ولي العراق خالد القسري فسير خالد جيشا لقتال مصعب، فاصطدم الجيشان بحزة (من أعمال الموصل) واقتتلوا فقتل مصعب (١) .
