    غَرْس النِّعْمَة (..٤٨٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٠٨٧ م) محمد بن هلال بن المحسن بن إبراهيم الصابئ، أبو الحسن: مؤرخ أديب مترسل. من أهل بغداد. كان محترما عند الخلفاء والملوك. له (عيون التواريخ) جعله ذيلا لتاريخ أبيه (وكتاب أبيه ذيل لتاريخ ثابت بن سنان، وهذا ذيل لتاريخ محمد بن جرير الطبري، وكان تاريخ الطبري قد انتهى إلى سنة ٣٠٢ وتاريخ ثابت إلى ٣٦٠ وتاريخ هلال إلى ٤٤٨ وتاريخ غرس النعمة هذا إلى ٤٧٩) وله أيضاَ كتاب (الربيع) ابتدأ به، تذييلا لنشوار المحاضرة، من سنة ٤٦٨ وكتاب (الهفوات النادرة - ط) قال ابن قاضي شهبة: وقد أنشأ دارا ببغداد ووقف فيها أربعة آلاف مجلد في فنون العلم (٢) .
