محمَّد علي حَشِيشُو (١٢٩٩ - ١٣٣٤ هـ = ١٨٨٢ - ١٩١٦ م) محمد علي بن حامد حشيشو: أديب له شعر، من أهل صيداء (في لبنان)ولد ونشأ فيها، ونشر أبحاثا في جريدة (ثمرات الفنون) البيروتية ومجلة العرفان بصيدا، وعين أستاذا للعربية في المكتب الرشدي. ولما نشبت الحرب العامة الأولى حوكم في ديوان عاليه، وظهرت براءته، فنفي إلى بعلبكّ. وعفي عنه، فذهب إلى (القصير) على مقربة من حماة، فتوفي فيها. له (آثار ذوات السوار - ط) و (شعراء سورية في العصر الحاضر) نشر في العرفان، وترجم عن التركية رواية (فتاة الوطن - ط) (١) .
