الأَمير محمَّد السَّيْفي (٠٠٠ - ١٠٣٢ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٦٢٣ م) محمد بن علي السيفي الطرابلسي: من أمراء بني سيفا، حكام طرابلس الشام، يتوارثونها خلفا عن سلف، وكانت لهم شهرة بالكرم والأدب. وهم أكراد الأصل. وصاحب الترجمة من خيارهم. كانت له معارك مع الأمير فخر الدين المَعْني. وفي خلاصة الأثر أن للأمير محمد كثيرا من (المواليا) وكان جوادا شجاعا. ولي بعد الأمير يوسف السيفي (سنة ١٠٢٥ هـ وتوفي مسموما في رحلة قام بها إلى بلاد الروم (تركيا) وانهار البيت السيفي بعده (١) .
