    ابن أَبي الحَكَم (٠٠٠ - ٥٧٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١١٧٤ م) محمد بن عبيد الله بن المظفر بن عبد الله الباهلي، أفضل الدولة، أبو المجد، ابن أَبي الحَكَم: طبيب عالم بالهندسة والنجوم والموسيقى. من أهل دمشق. أندلسي الأصل. عمل (أرغنا) وبالغ في إتقانه. وكان يضرب على العود ويزمر (بالناي) وله يد في سائر آلات الطرب. ولما بنى السلطان نور الدين الشهيد البيمارستان بدمشق تولى أعماله، فكان يدور على المرضى فيه ويكتب لهم ما هم في حاجة إليه، فإذا فرغ من ذلك خرج إلى القلعة فافتقد مرضى السلطان وغيرهم ثم عاد إلى البيمارستان، فيجلس بين يديه الأطباء والتلاميذ ويستمر في مباحث طبية مدة ثلاث ساعات (٢) .
