الأمين، الباي (١٢٩٨ - ١٣٨٢ هـ = ١٨٨١ - ١٩٦٢ م) محمد الأمين باشا: آخر من حمل لقب (الباي) من ملوك تونس. وهو التاسع عشر منهم. نصبه الفرنسيون بعد خلع المنصف باي (سنة ١٩٤٨) وفي أيام الأمين نشطت الحركة الوطنية واستقلت البلاد. ولما قرر المجلس الوطني التونسي إلغاء (الملكية) وإعلان الجمهورية (سنة ١٩٥٧) اعتزل كل عمل وأقام ملازما منزلة بتونس إلى أن توفي. وبه انتهى عهد (البايات) في البلاد التونسية (٢) .
