    ابن الأَشْعَث الكِنْدي (٠٠٠ - ٦٧ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٦٨٦ م) محمد بن الأشعث بن قيس الكندي، أبو القاسم: قائد. من أصحاب مصعب بن الزبير. شهد معه أكثر وقائعه. وكان هو وعبيد الله بن علي بن أبي طالب، على مقدمة جيش مصعب، في حربه مع المختار الثقفي. وقتل مع عبيد الله، قبل مقتل المختار بأيام. وله رواية للحديث عن عائشة (٢) .
