ابن عَلِي بافَضْل (٨٤٠ - ٩٠٣ هـ = ١٤٣٦ - ١٤٩٨ م) محمد بن أحمد بن عبد الله بن محمد، جمال الدين الشهير بابن علي بافضل، السعدي - نسبة إلى سعد العشيرة) الحضرميّ ثم العدني: فقيه. ولد في تريم (بحضرموت) وتفقه وتصدر للتدريس والإفتاء بعدن، وتوفي بها. له " شرح تراجم البخاري " و " مختصر قواعد الزركشي " و " العدة والسلاحلمتولي عقد النكاح " و " شرح المدخل " وغير ذلك (١) .
