    ابن الرُّكْن (٧٣٣؟ - ٨٠٣ هـ = ١٣٣٣ - ١٤٠٠ م) محمد بن أحمد بن علي بن سليمان، أبو عبد الله شمس الدين ابن الركن، المعري الحلبي، الشافعيّ: أديب تنوخي، ينتسب إلى عم لابن العلاء. تعلم بالمعرة وبدمشق. وولي الخطابة بجامع حلب. وأنشأ " خطبا " في مجلدة. وكتب بخطه كتبا كبيرة. وصنف كتبا، منها " بهجة السرور في غرائب المنظوم والمنثور - خ "يظن أنه بخطه، في دار الكتب مصورا عن أحمد الثالث (٢٢٩٤) و " الدرة الخفية في الألغاز العربية " و " روضة الأفكار في غرر الحكايات والأخبار - خ " في شستربتي ٤١٥٨ رآه السخاوي وقال: كتب على ظهره قريب له أنه مات مقتولا شهيدا على يد تمر لنك لكونه لقيه بكلام شديد (١) .
