    ابن كَيْدَر (٠٠٠ - ٢٣٣ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٨٤٨ م) مالك بن نصر الملقب بكيدر بن عبد الله الصفدي:من كبار القواد والولاة في العصر العباسي. أصل أبيه من الصغد، ونشأ هو في بيت رياسة. قال ابن تغري بردي: كان ساكنا عاقلا مدبرا سيوسا وقورا في الدول، تنقل في خدمة الخلفاء وولي الأعمال الجليلة وآخرها إمرة مصر، وليها سنة ٢٢٤هـ واستمر سنتين و ١١ يوما. وصرف عنها. وتوفي بالإسكندرية (١) .
