الكُمَيْت الأَكْبَر (٠٠٠ - ٠٠٠ = ٠٠٠ - ٠٠٠) الكميت بن ثعلبة بن نوفل بن نضلة الفقعسيّ الأسدي: شاعر مخضرم. عاش في الجاهلية، وأسلم في زمن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله ولم يجتمع به. وعرف بالكميت الأكبر، تمييزا له عن حفيد الكميت ابن معروف بن الكميت، وعن الكميت ابن زيد (الآتية ترجمته) وهما شاعران من بني أسد أيضا. وكان الكميت الاكبر هجاءا مقذعا (٢) .
