    فؤاد الشايب (١٣٢٩ - ١٣٩٠ هـ = ١٩١١ - ١٩٧٠ م) فؤاد بن أديب الشايب: كاتب قصصي سوري، من أهل " معولا " تخرج بالجامعة السورية وفاز بشهادة الحقوق (١٩٣١ م) ومارس الصحافة (١٩٣٠ - ١٩٤٠ م) وعمل في التدريس ببغداد (عامي ٤٠ و ١٩٤١ م) وعين رئيسا لشعبة المطبوعات في دمشق (١٩٤٢ م) فرئيسا للدعاية والأنباء. ولم يكن حزبيا. وأصدر مجموعة من " القصص الوصفي والنفسي " باسم " تاريخ جرح قديم - ط " و " لمن تقرع الطبول - ط " و " أوراق موظف - ط " شبه رواية شخصية، ورأس تحرير مجلة " المعرفة " بدمشق عدة سنين. ودخل في موظفي جامعة الدول العربية، فعين مديرا لمكتبها في " بوينس آيرس " سنة ١٩٦٧ م وتوفي بها (١) .
