    المُطْران شَاهِين (٠٠٠ - ١٣٤٥ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٩٢٦ م) غريغوريس بن جرجس شاهين رئيس أساقفة السريان في حمص وحماة: باحث، له اشتغال في التاريخ. قال سركيس: كان كثير المساوي بحق الناس ولا يمدح الا نفسه ويدعي معرفة علم الغيب. عاش نحو ٨٠ سنة. له " بديهية في الأفلاك - ط " رسالة، و " بيان في فرانسة الإنسان - ط " أيضا، و " كشف الأنقبة عن وجوه المؤلفين والمؤرخين الكذبة - ط " و " المنهج الوسيم في تاريخ الأمة السريانية القديم - ط " توفي بدمشق (٢) .
