ابن دَأْب اللَّيْثي (٠٠٠ - ١٧١ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٧٨٧ م) عيسى بن يزيد بن بكر بن دأب الليثي البكري الكناني، أبو الوليد: خطيب، شاعر، عالم بالأنساب، راوية. من أهل المدينة. اشتهر بأخبار مع المهدي العباسي. وحظي عند الهادي حظوة لم تكن لأحد. واتهم بوضع الشعر وأحاديث السمر، ونسبتها إلى العرب. قال ابن قتيبة: له عقب بالبصرة، وكان أبوه " يزيد " عالما أيضا بأخبار العرب وأشعارها، والأغلب على آل دأب الأخبار (٢) .
