    عِيسى آل خَلِيفة (١٢٦٥ - ١٣٥١ هـ = ١٨٤٨ - ١٩٣٢ م) عيسى بن علي بن خليفة بن سلمان بن أحمد، من آل خليفة: أمير البحرين. ولد ونشأ فيها. وانتقل إلى " قطر " بعد مقتل أبيه، فأقام إلى أن اختاره أهل البحرين للإمارة (سنة ١٢٨٦ هـ على أثرحوادث سيأتي ذكرها في ترجمة عمه (محمد بن خليفة بن سلمان) فعاد، وقام بأعباء الإمارة، في شؤونها الداخلية، وتعهد للإنجليز (سنة ١٨٩٢ و ١٨٩٨ م) بما أدخله في زمرة محمياتهم. واستمر إلى أن وقع شجار بين نجديّ وإيراني جعله الإنكليز سببا لتنحيته عن الحكم، سنة ١٣٤١ هـ (١٩٢٣ م) وتولية ابنه " حمد بن عيسى ". وأقام عيسى في البحرين بقية حياته، وتوفي بها. من آثاره "مرفأ " على ساحل المنامة أمر ببنائه سنة ١٣٣٠ هـ ومحجر صحي بناه سنة ١٣٢ هـ (١) .
