    عوف سُوف (٠٠٠ - ١٣٦٦ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٩٤٧ م) عون بن محمد سوف بن محمد اللافي المحمودي الطرابلسي: مجاهد كأبيه، من أهل طرابلس الغرب. مولده ووفاته فيها. قام الاحتلال الإيطالي لبلاده (سنة ١٩١١ - ١٩١٣ م) وهاجر إلى الشام مع جماعات كثيرة من المجاهدين، وعاد إلى طرابلس سنة ١٩٢٠ م، ثم كان في مقدمة من أسندت إليهم رياسة المجاهدين سنة ١٩٢٣ م، وكانت له جولات في معارك بئر الغنم ومصراتة وجرح في معركة الكراريم. وهاجر إلى مصر سنة ١٩٢٤ م، وعاد إلى بلاده سنة ١٩٤٥ م، مطالبا باستقلالها ووحدتها إلى أن توفي (٣) .
