    عَوْف البُرَك (٠٠٠ - ٠٠٠ = ٠٠٠ - ٠٠٠) عوف بن مالك بن ضُبيعة بن قيس بن ثعلبة، من بكر بن وائل: من فرسان العرب في الجاهلية. ذهب بعض الرواة إلى أنه هو الّذي قيل فيه: " لا حر بوادي عوف " وأكثرهم على أن المثل قيل في عوف بن محلّم الشيبانيّ (الآتية ترجمته) وسمي البرك لقوله يوم " قضة " وقد برك على الثنية: إني أنا ذا البركُ أبرك حيث أدرك (٥)
