عمرو بن حرثان (٠٠٠ - نحو ٨٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٧٠٠ م) عمرو بن حرثان الفهميّ: شاعر، من الفرسا. ضربه أمية بن عبد الله بن خالد، لشربه الخمر، فهجاه عمرو بأشعار كثيرة، منها قوله:" أضاع أمير المؤمنين ثغورنا ... وأطمع فينا المشركين ابنُ خالد " وكان أمية أحد الأمراء في دولة عبد الملك ابن مروان (ثم ولي له خراسان) فعلم عبد الملك بخبر عمرو، فقال لأمية: مالك وله، هلا درأت عنه الحد بالشبهة؟ (١) .
