    ١٥٥٦ - أبو الحسن الواسطي المبارك بن محمد بن عبد الله الواسطي القاضي الإمام أبو الحسن كبير فاضل من أركان الفقهاء المكثرين الحافظين للمذهب والخلاف تفقه ببلده وببغداد وحصل الكثير وقدم نيسابور واستوطنها وسكن مدرسة أبي العباس المشطي يدرس فيها ويناظر ويحضر المجالس وكان كثير الحفظ لطريقة العراق ويتعمم ويتطلس على سيرة الأئمة والعلماء متجملا قانعا بقليل التجارة والمعاملة سمع ولم يرو الكثير توفي فجأة ضحوة يوم الخميس الرابع عشر من شهر ربيع الآخر سنة إثنتين وتسعين وأربعمائة وكان مولده كما أخبر سنة خمس وأربعمائة روى عنه أبو الحسن عن أبي علي بن شاذان سماعه منه ببغداد
