ابن الأَعْلَم (٠٠٠ - ٣٧٥ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٩٨٦ م) علي بن الحسن العلويّ، أبو القاسم ابن الأعلم: عالم بالهيئة. من الأشراف، من أولاد جعفر الطيار. بغدادي المولد والمنشأ تقدم عند عضد الدولة ابن بويه، وصنع له " زيجا " كان العمل عليه في زمانه وبعده، إلى القرن السابع للهجرة. وتوفي آيباً من الحج تمنوزلة تسمى العسيلة (٢) .
