عِلْباء بن الهَيْثَم (٠٠٠ - ٣٦ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٦٥٦ م) علباء بن الهيثم بن جرير السدوسي: شجاع، من الفصحاء. وأدرك الجاهلية والإسلام. وشهد الفتوح في عهد عمر. وسكن الكوفة، وكان سيدا بها. وهو بأول من دعا فيها إلى علي بن أبي طالب واستشهد في وقعة الجمل (١) . ابن علبة = جعفر بن علبة ١٤٥ العُلَبي = أحمد بن مقبل ٦٣٠.
