    عِزّ الدَّين القُطْبي (٠٠٠ - ٩٣٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٥٢٤ م) عز الدين بن أحمد بن دريب القطبي: أمير يماني. أرسله أخوه المهدي ابن أحمد (صاحب جازان) سردارا أو دليلا للعساكر المصرية، فافتتحوا مدينة ربيد. وعاد عز الدين فاعتقل أخاه واستولى على جازان (سنة ٩٢٤ هـ واستمر إلى أن قتله إسكندر القرماني في معركة بقرب زبيد (بينها وبين بيت الفقيه ابن العجيل) (١) .
