    عَزَّان بن تَمِيم (٠٠٠ - ٢٨٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٨٩٣ م) عزان بن تميم الخروضي الأزدي: من أئمة الإباضية في عمان. بويع له بنزوي، بعد خلع راشد بن النضر سنة ٢٧٧ هـفعزل أكثر ولاة راشد. وكانت أيامه كأيام من قبله، فتنا وخطوبا. وتخلف كثير من أهل عمان عن بيعته. وزحف عليه محمد بن بور (عامل المعتضد العباسي في البحرين) فاستولى على " جلفار " و " توام " و " السر " بعد قتال شديد، وقصد " نزوى " وفيها عزان (الإمام) فتخاذل أصحابه عنه فخرج إلى " سمد الشأن " فتبعه محمد بن بور، واقتتلا، فانهزم أهل عمان، وقتل عزان، وأرسل " ابن بور " رأسه إلى المعتضد ببغداد (١) .
