ضِيَاء الدِّين المَاراني (٥١٦ - ٦٠٢ هـ = ١١٢٣ - ١٢٠٦ م) عثمان بن عيسى بن درباس الماراني، ضياء الدين، أبو عمرو: من أعلم الشافعيين بالفقه في عصره. نسبته إلى بني ماران، بالمروض (قرب الموصل) نشأ بإربل وانتقل إلى دمشق ثم إلى مصر، فولي القضاء بالغربية (من أعمالها) وفوض إليه السلطان صلاح الدين القضاء بالديار المصرية سنة ٥٦٦ هـ ثم عكف على التدريس إلى أن توفي في القاهرة. من كتبه " الاستقصاء لمذاهب الفقهاء - خ " ثلاثة أجزاء منه، هي الثالث والعاشر والثالث عشر، في الأزهر، والأصل في نحو عشرين مجلدا، و " شرح اللمع " في أصول الفقه (١) .
