    العِماد السَّلَمَاسي (٥٨٩-٦٤٤ هـ =١١٩٣- ١٢٤٦ م) عثمان بن إسماعيل بن خليل، عماد الدين السلماسي: أديب من الشعراء الكتاب: أصله من بلدة سلماس (بالتريك) من مدن أذربيجان. انتقل أبوه منها إلى القاهرة فولد بها صاحب الترجمة. وتنقل هذا في دواوين الإنشاء ثم كان ناظر البيمارستان السلطاني بالقاهرة. ووردت عليه رسالة من كاتب سلطان إفريقية، يلتمس بها لطائف من أشعار المشارقة، فكانت حافزا له على أن جمع " تصنيفا " في جوابها وبعث به إليه. قال ابن سعيد (علي بن موسى ٦٨٥) : وكتب لي منه نسخة بخطه، وفيها بعض نظمه ونثره، وهو عالي الطبقة في النوعين. وتوفي بالقاهرة (٢) . عُثْمان باي = عثمان بن علي ١٢٣٠
