المؤَيَّد الشُّهَاري (٠٠٠ - ١٢٩٨ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٨٨٠ م) العباس بن عبد الرحمن بن محمد، من أبناء المتوكل على الله إسماعيل بن القاسم الحسني الشهاري: من أئمة الزيدية في اليمن. ولي القضاء للمتوكل محمد بن يحيى في ضوران وذمار وبلاد رداع. ثم سكن صنعاء، وبويع فيها بالإمامة سنة ١٢٦٦ هـ ونشبت فتن، فتنحى عن الإمامة بعد خمسة شهور من ولايته. وكان فقيها أديبا، له شعر. توفي بمطرح الليث من تهامة، آيباً من الحج (١) .
