الأَمِير شَرَف الدِّين (١١٥٩ - ١٢٤١ هـ = ١٧٤٦ - ١٨٢٥ م) شرف الدين بن أحمد بن محمد، من نسل المتوكل على الله يحيى شرف الدين: أمير كوكبان وبلادها (في اليمن) ولد بها، ووليها سنة ١٢٠٧ هـ وكان عادلا حسن السيرة، له اشتغال بالأدب. غزاه المتوكل على الله (صاحب اليمن)بنفسه، سنة ١٢٢٨ هـ فظفر به، وأخذه معه إلى صنعاء، وولى على بلاد كوكبان واليا اسمه السيد حسين بن علي. فظلّ
