ابن جَنْدَر (٠٠٠ - ٥٨٧ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١١٩٢ م) سليمان بن جندر، علم الدين: أمير. من رجال الدولة (الصلاحية) في بلاد الشام. كان من أكابر أمراء حلب، وخدم السلطان صلاح الدين بالقدس، حتى صار (شيخ الدولة وكبيرها وظهيرها ومشيرها) وهو الّذي أشار بتخريب عسقلان لتتوفر العناية بالقدس. توفي في قرية (غباغب) على مرحلة من دمشق، في طريقه من القدس إلى حلب (٢) .
