    المَرَّار العَدَوي (٠٠٠ - نحو ١٠٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٧١٨ م) زيا بن منقذ بن عمرو، الحنظليّ، من بني العدوية، من تميم، يلقب بالمرّار: من شعراء الدولة الأموية. كان معاصرا للفرزدق وجرير. وكانت إقامته في بطن الرمّة (من أودية نجد) وزار اليمن. وله قصيدة في ذم صنعاء ومدح بلده وقومه،اولها: (لاحبذا أنت يا صنعاء من بلد، ... ولا شعوب هوى مني ولانقم) وشعوب ونقم موضعان باليمن. وكان متصلا ببني مروان. وهاجاه جرير. ويذكر المرزباني أنه سعى بجرير لدى سليمان بن عبد الملك، ونبهه إلى بيت في شعر جرير، يشير به على عبد الملك بخلع سليمان واستخلاف ابنه عبد العزيز (١) .
