    زِيَاد الحارِثي (٠٠٠ - ١٣٥ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٧٥٢ م) زياد بن صالح الحارثي: من أمراء الدولة المروانية، وأحد القادة الشجعان.كان والي الكوفة عند قيام العباسيين في خراسان والعراق. ولما عظم أمرهم خرج برجاله إلى الشام (سنة ١٣٢ هـ فأقام إلى أن انتظم الأمر لبني العباس، فخرج عليهم في ما وراء النهر، وتبعه جمع كبير من أنصار الأمويين والمروانيين. فقصده أبو مسلم الخراساني يريد قتاله، فلم يلبث أن جاءه عدد من قواد زياد وقد خلعوه وتركوه في جامعة يسيرة، فجدَّ أبو مسلم في طلبه، فلجأ إلى دهقان، فقتله الدهقان وحمل رأسه إلى أبي مسلم (١) .
