ابن شَخْبُوط (٠٠٠ - ١٣٢٦ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٩٠٨ م) زايد بن خليفة بن شخبوط بن ذياب، من آل بو فلاح: شيخ بلدة (أبو ظبي) على الساحل الجنوبيّ من الخليج الفارسيّ. بناها بعض أسلافه حوالي سنة ١١٧٥ هـ وتوارثوا حكمها، وكان أشهرهم جده (شخبوط) حكمها سنة ١٢١٠ - ١٢٣١ هـواضطرب أمرها بعد ذلك إلى أن تولاها صاحب الترجمة سنة ١٢٧١ هـ فاستقرت، وأصبح أقوى رجل على الساحل، في جنوب الخليج، وكانت إمارته من أقوى إمارات تلك البقعة. عاش قريبا من تسعين سنة، وتوفي فيها (١) .
