    ابن جُرَيْس (٠٠٠ - بعد ١٢٩٨ هـ = ٠٠٠ - بعد ١٨٨١ م) راشد بن علي بن عبد الله بن محمد بن سليمان، من آل جريس، النعامي النجدي الحنبلي: مؤرخ. ولد في قرية (نعام) قرب الحوطة، بنجد. وعاش أواخر أعوامه في إسطنبول. له (مثير الوجد في معرفة أنساب ملوك نجد - ط) رسالة انتهى فيها إلى سنة ١٢٩١ هـ وكان معاصرا للسيد صديق حسن خان ودارت بينهما مكاتبة آخرها رسالة من صاحب الترجمة صدرت عن إسطنبول بتاريخ ١٠ ذي الحجة ١٢٩٨ (٣)
