    حَنْظَلَة الكَلْبي (٠٠٠ - نحو ١٣٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٧٤٨ م) حنظلة بن صفوان الكلبي، أبو حفص: أمير، من القادة الشجعان، من أهل دمشق. استخلفه أخوه بشر عليّ إمارة مصر سنة ١٠٣ هـ وأقره يزيد بن عبد الملك. فلما مات يزيد وخلفه هشام بن عبد الملك صرف حنظلة (سنة ١٠٥ هـ ثم أعاده هشام إليها سنة ١١٩ هـ فأقام إلى سنة ١٢٤ هـ ونقل إلى إفريقية واليا عليها، وثورة البربر مندلعة فيها، فقمعها.وأرسل إلى الأندلس فدانت له. واستقر إلى أن اضطرب أمر الخلافة في الشام، فأخرجه أهل إفريقية سنة ١٢٩ هـ فعاد إلى الشام (١) .
