حمزة القارئ (٨٠ - ١٥٦ هـ = ٧٠٠ - ٧٧٣ م) حمزة بن حبيب بن عمارة بن إسماعيل، التيمي، الزيات: أحد القراء السبعة. كان من موالي التيم فنسب إليهم. وكان يجلب الزيت من الكوفة إلى حلوان (في أواخر سواد العراق مما يلي بلاد الجبل) ويجلب الجبن والجوز إلى الكوفة. ومات بحلوان. كان عالما بالقراآت، انعقد الإجماع على تلقي قراءته بالقبول.قال الثوري: ما قرأ حمزة حرفا من كتاب الله إلا بأثر (١) .
