    صاحب القَلْعة (٠٠٠ - ٤١٩ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٠٢٩ م) حماد بن بُلكّين (يوسف) بن زيري ابن مناد الصنهاجي: صاحب (قلعة حماد) وإليه نسبتها. كان شجاعا جوادا، قرأ الفقه في القيروان وعاش مع أبيه وأخيه المنصور بن بلكين (انظر ترجمته في الأعلام) وتوفي المنصور (٣٨٦) وخلفه ابنه باديس، وهو صغير السنّ، (انظر ترجمته في الأعلام) وتولى أعماله عمه حماد في القيروان. ومات باديس (٤٠٦) فكادت تؤول الدولة بإفريقية الى حماد. وبويع المعز بن باديس، فاقتتل حماد وجيش المعز وظفر هذا. ويقول ياقوت: ان حمادا أحدث القلعة في حدودسنة ٣٧٠ واستمر إلى أن توفي بها أو بإحدى قرى بجاية (١).
